You will get a doctor to evaluate whether medical marijuana will be effective to treat your condition.
The doctor should sign a physician’s treatment when they find out that medical marijuana is appropriate for your condition. Unless you visit the doctor’s office, you cannot be evaluated. Before visiting a physician, it is important that you gather all your medical records. The documentation of your diagnosis should also be provided by your primary doctor. Remember that only those above eighteen years can qualify for medical marijuana.
Those who are below eighteen years can only get a medical marijuana card through two doctors’ recommendations. Some patients will not be fit for medical marijuana and should use other treatment options. A doctor can only recommend the use of medical marijuana if they find that it will be fit for your condition. Through entering you in the state’s marijuana use registry, the doctor helps you to move on to the next step.
Application completion is the last step in getting a medical marijuana card. You need to submit an application to the marijuana use office when applying for a medical marijuana card. You will need to prove that you are a residence of that state and include a passport-style photo. There is also some registration fee that you have to pay during the application. The submission of application is done electronically or through the mail. The health department then issues you with a temporary card that allows you to buy marijuana instantly. The card expires annually and has to be renewed.
